Professor Peter Hiscock has been awarded funding for a project to commence in 2010 with Dr Alex Mackay titled ‘Technology and behavioural evolution in late Pleistocene Africa, Europe and Australia’ (DP1092445). Funding of more than A$400,000 provided an ARC Post-doctoral Fellowship for Dr Alex Mackay. This project will focus on excavations in Africa with comparisons to other areas of the world including Australia.
Peter Hiscock also presented a paper titled ‘Archaeology threatens the world! Representations of archaeologists in cinema’ in December at the Kineon symposium How do the media represent archaeology, sponsored by the Musées royaux d’Art et d’Histoire in Bruxelles.
