Peter Bellwood organised the 19th Congress of the Indo-Pacific Prehistory Association, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and Institute of Archaeology, Hanoi, Vietnam, 29 Nov to 5 Dec 2009. The congress was a huge success, with about 600 delegates attending from about 30 countries world-wide. These included 400 delegates who paid registration fees, another 104 from developing countries who received free registration and some assistance towards air airfares, and many Vietnamese delegates who also received registration waivers.
