The Mad Dog Initiative: Over a decade of conservation and research in Madagascar

Since 2012, the Mad Dog Initiative has led an effort to humanely reduce free-roaming invasive species populations in Madagascar’s key protected areas – this is a story about finding ways to protect the primates we study.

About the Speaker

Dr. Valenta is a primate evolutionary ecologist who founded the Mad Dog Initiative after seeing the impact that free-roaming dogs and cats were having on wildlife in Madagascar’s protected areas.
